MBSA supports Grant Lottering’s Im’Possible Tour III

Mercedes-Benz South Africa and its Dealer Partners support Laureus Ambassador Grant Lottering’s mission to raise funds in aide of the Laureus Foundation South Africa by donating R1 million.
Mercedes-Benz South Africa is title vehicle sponsor for Grant Lottering’s Im’possible Tour – a solo, non-stop, 1 000km cycle challenge through the French Alps in under 48 hours.
Pretoria, South Africa – Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA), proud country patron of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa, has thrown its weight behind survivor, speaker, ultra-endurance cyclist and Laureus Sport for Good Ambassador, Grant Lottering, on his third Im’possible Tour. In August, Grant will attempt a solo, 1 000km ultra-endurance cycle through the French Alps cycling continuously for two days and two nights.
As part of this tour Grant will be cycling over 20 alpine mountains with 20 000 metres of climbing in the Alps. For fundraising, in aide of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation in South Africa, he is selling various mountains to sponsors. Mercedes-Benz South Africa and its Dealer Network partners took to the challenge and jointly pledged R1 million.
This outstanding support stems from Mercedes-Benz South Africa’s belief in Laureus’ mission of “using the power of sport as a tool for social change”. This mission was inspired by the words of the first Patron of Laureus, Nelson Mandela. At the very first Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco 2000, he said: "Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.”
Co-CEO of MBSA and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Trustee member, Florian Seidler, enthused, “At Mercedes-Benz South Africa, we take social responsibility extremely seriously and as a country patron in South Africa for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation we continue to make a lasting contribution in the development of the youth of South Africa through sport, assisting positive social change in the communities where Laureus is active.”
MBSA is also the title vehicle sponsor for Grant Lottering’s Im’possible Tour III.The vehicle sponsorship entails a V-Class and a Vito Tourer that will accompany Grant on his ultra-endurance trip to achieve - the Im’possible.
